My skincare regime changed drastically this year, from the last time I wrote about skin care!

If any of you have read my previous posts, you'll know that I have acne prone skin.

I've been taking medication for my skin for years now, but this year, I had to take a break because of other skin issues.

I found two products, that HUGELY cleared my skin.. & here they are.

A lot of you will know this product, it's pretty hyped about. I was at the point where I had tried everything, and had given up with over the counter products.

But then I bought this. I don't know what made me buy it.. but I did.

You have to make sure that the pink liquid is separated from the clear, and you have to place the pink stuff over the blemish. The first time I used this, I noticed a difference in the size of spots. They were instantly 'dried' out.

This stuff works AMAZINGLY on small pimples, but takes a few days on large ones, but still works on them!

& the second product..

This Sunday Riley UFO oil changed my life. Honestly.

I've never used anything that has actually made me wake up feeling smooth and less oily.

If your acne is caused by oily skin (the majority of acne) this will work. By that I mean, if you're oily after 3 hours on a day, or wake up with oily skin.. get this. I don't think this will work on people who get occasional pimples due to hormones, stress, etc.

When I first used this, I woke up thinking my skin was weirdly clean.. and it's because it VISIBLY reduced the amount of oil my skin produced. Not only did it reduce the oil on my face, it improved the texture of my skin.. my skin is so so smooth.

It sounds weird that oil works on oily skin, but I've read in many articles that it is very important to incorporate oil into your skin care routine when you have oily skin, as it can trick your skin into not producing oil, as it's already oily. Get it? This product definitely does that!

I use this every other day, and I've been using it for nearly 4 months now, and it looks like it's hardly been used, because you don't need a lot of this stuff! The price of this product (£68) is worth it, because I feel like it will last me more than a year, easily.

The trick is to not use it everyday, and when you do use it, don't overload your face with the oil.. put enough in so it can be massaged into the skin.

A lot of people complain about the smell of this product.. but if a product works well, I don't mind if it smells a bit funny. The smell isn't anything drastic, and it's definitely not as bad as some reviews make it out to be!

I use it at night - a lot of people use it before applying make up, but I don't want to do that lol.

I still have spots, because that's just the type of person I am.. but these two products have given me so much confidence, and improved my skin massively. I finally feel like I'm in control of my face. Ha.

I cleared my skin with two products.

After the hype around this product, it would have been rude of me not to try it out.

I was really hoping to love it, and I was pretty intrigued about the formula, the compact, everything about it. So I purchased!

I've seen many reviews about this product, all from pretty big accounts, and you can't deny it looks super pretty, so makes for a great piece if you're a make up collector.

Here's my opinion..

Firstly, this product is $25 in the USA, but it's £29 on every website, including the ABH UK site. I purchased from Beauty Bay here. It's pretty expensive for a single shade. :( But I get that it's limited edition!

Let me show you some swatches:

The top swatch is with a finger, then the one below is with a fan brush. Yes, it's very natural.. but in a highlight, that's not what I'm looking for. I noticed if I build it up, it doesn't look natural.. but it looks like you applied too much highlight. I prefer fine glitter particles in my highlight, but this isn't. As you can see, with a fan brush it goes on obviously a lot lighter.

& don't get me wrong. I've tried this for around a week with so many different brushes, and each time.. it didn't give me the finish I wanted.

When I tried to take a photograph, it was really hard for me to get it to show lol. Here's one really bad image I managed to take:

It doesn't give me the look I want in highlighter, but I know that some people will definitely like this! If you want to see my go to highlighter, click here.

One thing I was really intrigued about, was the formula. 0 fall out? Unlike other highlighters that I own from ABH, I was really excited about this, as I know ABH highlighters can have a lot of fall out! I liked the aspect of the 0 fall out, but not the finish it gives lol. However, this 0 fall out makes the formula harder, so less prone to damage, which might be better than a Becca highlight which will probably break within 0.5 seconds of you purchasing it ha.

I also feel this colour would look brighter on people lighter than me, so maybe this isn't universal for all skin tones.

My last issue - I literally feel it has no staying power. I've never had to touch up my highlighter throughout the day - but yes.. this one.. you do!

In conclusion, this highlighter isn't for me. The price, staying power, the lack of glitter (and lack of colourful glitter) just doesn't do it for me. I definitely think there are cheaper highlighters that are better than this!

I still love ABH though, and can't wait for their next collection!

Unpopular Opinion on the Amrezy x ABH Highlighter

When I first saw this palette, I didn't want it. I initially thought it was too bright for my boring eyeshadows and that I wouldn't get much use out of it in my day to day life.

As my obsession with ColourPop grew, I decided to bite the bullet, and just purchase it!

Here's some poor swatches.

I was pretty amazed with the amount of day to day, non vibrant looks I could make out of this palette. Apart from the blue shades, this palette is pretty good for day to day looks. That being said, it can also be used to incorporate bright colours into an eye look. The palette is basically really versatile!

I noticed that, the matte colours do swatch differently to what they look like in the pan. For example, Flutterbye appears brighter than it looks in the pan. In the pan it looks like a dark, dusty rose, but it comes up swatched and on the eye as a bright pink.

The shimmers aren't as sparkly as I hoped they'd be (I love glitter)- however that can easily be fixed with one of ColourPop's supershock shadows. For example, on an eye look I did, I put the Supershock shadow 'Cherries Jubilee' on top of the eye shadow, to give it some extra sparkle. Here's a swatch of that (it's also from the My Little Pony collection!)

This is so so nice for extra shimmer.

The colour 'Applejack' reminds me of a dupe of Orange Soda from the Anastasia Beverly Hills soft glam palette (or you can buy it as a single).. so I really liked this colour!

I really like the colour 'Firefly' as it's just blue shimmer! It's a very unique shade.. as are nearly most of the colours in this palette.

On top of everything I've already mentioned, I find this palette really unique. I've not seen these shades in a palette before, and I love finding new palettes instead of dupes of something I already own!

Would I recommend this palette? Yes. Don't be afraid of the bright bright colours in here, as you can easily get a lot of wear out this palette. For $16, you can't really go wrong.. and the packaging is super cute too!

I created this look with the palette, and some other My Little Pony purchases I got, so I thought I'd briefly review the other products too!

I used FlutterBye and Applejack in the crease, Butterscotch underneath the brow bone, Starshine on the whole lid, and a little bit of Blossom on the centre of the lid.

I topped it off with Cherries Jubilee SuperShock Shadow all over the eye for some extra sparkle.

I also used here, the My Little Pony x Colourpop Ultra Matte lip in Moondancer, and Starflower highlighter:

Ultra Matte Lip in Moondancer - This colour is intennnnsee. I really do like it - it's pretty dark, so I think it's really hard to use without lip liner, and it can feather slightly, but it is a really lovely colour that I don't own already!

Starflower highlighter - So, when I first saw this I was like.. ummm this is really peach/orangey.. I'm not sure about it in terms of a highlighter.. but OMG, if you are a similar shade to me.. this is perfect. It really compliments olive/warm skin tones really well.. but I would stay away if you are pale as this can look pretty orange! I'm also obsessed with the packaging and the amount of product you get for $8. (I'm wearing it in both pictures)

So overall, the Colourpop x My Little Pony collaboration.. is great!

ColourPop x My Little Pony Review.

So, if I spent a certain amount of money on Beauty Bay, I received a free £150 goody bag! I needed to place orders for a few things, so I did it.

& here's what came inside it:

- Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask - This is a pretty small sample of a conditioning mask, which I've already got as a sample before.. I don't really remember it so wasn't too keen on that.
- Travel Size Ofra Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick Miami Fever - This is actually a decent colour, and a decent size, so I was pretty pleased with that one.
- Oskia Renaissance Mask - a decent size, and a decent product! I've actually got it on now, and I"m pretty impressed with it.. It's a unique mask, it feels like a balm.. you massage it in so it turns white, leave it on for 20 minutes and splash water on it so it turns into a milk.. and then cleanse. So far, I really like this product.
- Sigma E65 Small Angled Mini Brush - it's so small and cute! It's a small brow brush basically, which I'll find really handy for travel!
- Small Beauty Blender Liquid BlenderCleanser - I have piles of these from other samples, and yes I don't mind them because they do come in handy.
- Unicorn Lashes 3D Vegan Silk Lashes Clementine - I've never used Unicorn lashes before, so I'm excited to try these! But my only problem is, I wouldn't typically pick this style!
- Blank Canvas Cosmetics F06 Brush in Metallic Champagne Pink- A foundation brush, and it's full size! I've never used this type of brush for foundation, so I'll do it tomorrow.. and decide if I like it. \
- Vita Liberata Delux Travel Size Tanning Mousse - I'm brown. I don't need this.
- Eyeko Mini Lash Alert Mascara - Cute.
- The Gypsy Shrine Face, Hair and Body Glitter Chunky Unicorn Glitter - I will neveeeer use this. I am a glittery princess, but this is just thick bits of glitter ha.
- Yes To Grapefruit Vitamin C Boosting Sleeping Mask - definitely won't sleep in this.. anyone who knows me will know I have bad experience with Vitamin C lmao.

You can decide for yourselves if these goody bags are worth it! Lol.

17 March 2018

I got a free £100 Goody Bag from Beauty Bay..

So, I don't usually do favourites, but I feel like I've been using a lot of new products that I've been absolutely lovinnnnggg. So, I thought I'd share some with you!

Um, Colourpop is rapidly becoming my favourite make up brand. Ordering it to the UK and having to wait sometimes over a month is breaking my heart. One of my fave products from the first order I've made is this Supershock highlighter in 'Over the Moon'.

Yes it looks so scary for a highlighter - it's pink! The formula is amazing, it's 'wet' but when you apply it, it isn't like a cream, it applies dry. Basically, this formula is weirdly wonderful. It allows you to have total control on the amount you apply (so you can go from a few specs of pink glitter to an absolute pink glitter ball dependent on your mood), and this colour is SUCH unicorn vibes. I can't.

Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer - The smallest pot ever. But wow, if you're looking for a very full coverage concealer, this is amazing. I may write about this in my Concealer Diaries Series, to show you pictures on how it works. I actually feel like this would make an amazing foundation. Also, a little of this product does go a long way! I've probably used it about 5-8 times, and that's how much product I've used! Nothing!

Becca Soft Lighting Blur Powder  - So this product, does exactly that. It blurs your skin, giving it a soft appearance, sets your foundation AMAZINGLY, and also brightens your face. This shade is  Golden Hour, and I have used it every single day since getting it! Another fave that I use along with this is the Charlotte Tilbury powder, that one I use during the day, and I use this to set my make up! I highly recommend.

Benefit Bad Gal Bang Mascara - Worth the hype? Hell yes. Never have I ever worn a mascara to work and been asked if I'm wearing fake lashes. I wasn't. I was wearing this. Now that's a good sign for a mascara!

One thing I would say about this product is you have to perfect your technique! Because it's so wet at the beginning, you can easily get your eyelashes clumped up, but after a while, you get used to using it, and this mascara is fabulous.

This palette is like nothing I've seen before. It's called the Laura Mercier L'armour Exotique face palette, and unfortunately, I think it's discontinued. BUT I think you can buy some of  the colours individually, I'll link that here.

Now, you know the first highlighter I spoke about - this palette is not like that. This is such a subtle, natural glow, and that's what my make up collection was missing. As much as I love gliterry, extremely glowy highlights, this is also amazing. I've had people ask me what this highlight was too!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Prism Palette - I don't know why this palette was slept on. Honestly, I picked this up when it was discounted, and I thought about it for SUCH a long time before buying it. I can't believe that I didn't buy this earlier.

This palette, looks really overwhelming. And it's all that bright yellow's fault. I was amazed at how many natural/day time looks I could create with this palette. The shadows are sooooo unique, and you can make SO many looks with this palette. I'm in love.

I liked writing this.. maybe I'll do it again.. someday.
