So, I recently cut my hair from this:

 to this:

and with this, comes great responsibility of changing hair products. So here's what I found works best with my new hair.

I recently visited Bumble & Bumble in boots, where a few things were recommended to me, firstly, the surf spray, which is really great when I don't want to straighten my hair and want wavy/curly hair. It gives quite a lot of volume too. But the best for volume is the BB thickening dryspun finish hairspray! This is amazing! It gives my hair so much volume, without the annoying feeling of having too much hairspray in my hair (which I hate), it feels amazingly lightweight and the results are incredible.

The lady kindly gave me these samples too! The surf foam wash shampoo and conditioner was good, but I didn't find it to be worth splashing out on. However, the BB straight is really cool, it doesn't make your hair incredibly straight without a straightener, but I can tell there's a difference when I use it and without. It's also really good as a defrizzer too. I do use the BB defrizz too, on days when I don't use BB straight. And lastly, the BB texture is really good to get your short hair to stay in updos! Yay!

Handling Short Hair!

Heeey. Thought I'd do a small haul of the stuff I've bought recently.

I finally gave in and decided to purchase the Glamglow Youthmud face mask! It was £40 in Fenwicks, whereas every other place sells it for £50, so the £10 off sort of got me.
I have always wanted to try the Nip + Fab range, so started with the Bee Sting Fix Lifting Mask. Sounds weird, so I bought it.

Summer Haul!

Hi. It's really hot. Asos had a sale. Resulting in me buying really really loose dresses. They're so comfortable and I live in them!

I bought this orange dress from Asos for £11! Such a bargain. I've also posted another really loose dress below from Asos which cost £10!
Sunglasses - Rayban
Necklace - Chanel
Dress - Asos
Shoes - River Island
Bag - Céline
Bracelet - Céline

I really love the Rayban Clubmasters, however they didn't suit as well as these Tom Ford style ones. They're much pricier at £250, but I loooove them.

 #FOTD

Sorry about the horrible camera quality and the 'caught off guard' pose, but this is another dress. This one has bat like arms, which makes it so flowey! I bought another 2 in this style which I haven't worn yet, but I definitely will post them when I have!

My new fashion obsession

As you all may know, Benefit have launched a new eyeliner, which I had no plan on purchasing. I ended up leaving Boots with it when they had their big beauty event. They offered me 500 advantage points when purchasing 2 Benefit products, so I thought I'd do a very quick review on this product.

Benefit's They're Real Push Up Eyeliner Review

This BB cream caught my eye. If I can get away with it, I would rather not wear foundation on hot days, so I'm always in search for a great BB cream.

I bought this in shade medium, it claims to;
1. Create a natural glow
2. Compliment skin tone
3. SPF30 UV protection
4. Hydrate all day
5. Blur imperfection
6. Be oil -free, non greasy
7. Look visibly smooth
8. Feel fresh

I was first drawn to the pure dream BB cream, as it is for oily skin, however they only have shades light and medium, and the medium was way too light.

Dream Fresh BB comes in 4 shades; light, medium, dark and universal glow. I still think I bought the wrong shade. It looks like my colour when you squeeze it out of the bottle, but when you blend it out, it becomes lighter! However, I still gave it a go, with some bronzer on top.
I do feel like this gives a nice glow for summer, and has very light coverage (which I love). It does feel fresh on your skin, however this oxidises throughout the day. I did not feel as it blurs imperfections, but I wouldn't expect it to being a BB cream. My skin did feel hydrated, but not oily, which is great. :( It's main disadvantage is the colour selection. This was only £6.99, so if one of the 4 shades matches your skin, I would definitely recommend this for summery days!

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Review

One foundation is never enough, you never know how your skin will be acting when you wake up, and this has lead to me buying very different types of foundation. I've decided to show you guys what foundations I own, and a very small review of each.

From left to right; L'oreal Eau De Teint, L'oreal True match, Makeup forever HD foundation, Mac Studio fix fluid, Makeup forever Mat Velvet+, Vichy Dermablend, Smashbox camera ready BB cream, Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream.

My foundation & BB cream collection.

So I normally do separate posts on what I've been wearing and what I've been doing and where I've been going and as I've been away from the blog for a while I thought I'd do a 'catch up' post, of a few outfits I wore at the beginning of Spring/Summer until recently! (Sorry if the pictures aren't that great)

My catch up post.

You know I haven't blogged in a long time when I'm talking about something that came in my April Birchbox, but this product is too good to forget about!
This is sort of a cheat review as it's just a small sample (which has lasted me 2 months), but I plan to purchase the whole palette which comes in the 6 colours below.

12 June 2014

How 'Bout Them Apples?

I have SO many posts to write and so little time! As all students will know, May/June are the hardest month's to ever pursue a hobby, social life or overall life! I've managed to find some time to talk about my newest find.
I'm either VERY late on finding this out, or I shop way too much, but I have found that selected Next stores sell NYX make up! Every time I'm on an American bloggers blog, I wish we had some of the brands that they had, the reviews for most of the products are generally positive, and it seems so inexpensive! I found it when Googling make-up one very random day, and found out a Next store near me sells it! So, I (literally) ran there to pick up some goodies.

NYX's Appearance to the UK!

I wanted to wait a few more months before doing this post, but I decided to tell you guys what I think of Birchbox's.

25 April 2014

Are Birchbox's worth it?

This was my second time visiting Sanderson Hotel for the Madhatters tea party for my friends birthday because I think it's so pretty! And I took too many pictures so I thought I would share them. :)

18 April 2014

Tea Party.

I really didn't like eyeshadow on me, I think it's because my eyes are so small, and I have such small eyelids, that I was pretty limited with what I can do with them. Until I came across the Naked 3 Palette.

11 April 2014

Naked 3: Eye Make up For Beginners

I wanted to do this post at the end of March or the first day of April BUT my internet has been down and still is :(.

3 April 2014

March Faves.

29 March 2014

OOTN.

I've considered buying a Birchbox so many times, and it took me this long to finally do it! It was pretty cool that the March box had been picked by Lulu Guinness.

These are the stuff that were in the box!

The first thing that impressed me was the size of the Korres Citrus Little Body Milk! I thought this was really good for a 'sample' box, and it smells delicious!
The next thing I was impressed by was the Pores No More by Dr. Brandt. Although it wasn't a full size, it's going to take me a long time to get through as it's a silicone primer and I use the tiniest amount of these to make it work for my face.
The rest of the beauty products were truly sample sized: the Molton Brown Rhubarb & Rose Replenishing Hand Cream, Benefit's Stay Don't Stray Eyelid Primer, and an English Laundry perfume in English Rose. I'm really excited to try all of these!

And it came with a huge Lulu Guinness inspired rock, which my sweet tooth will love!

Looking forward to my next Birchbox already :)

23 March 2014

My first ever Birchbox!

I love going to Boots to purchase anything and everything. And the 3 for 2 offer Boots normally have - I can't resist. So I went for 6 for 4.

I've never purchased Bioré pore strips before, but I feel like my nose needs some TLC, so I'm going to give this a go.
Hydraluron Boosting Masks! I love Hydraluron, so I'm going to overflow my face with this stuff. However, this is pricey! £19.99 for 4 masks, I must be addicted.
I'm not getting along with my Rimmel Stay Matte powder, so I'm hoping the Maybelline Superstay 24 hour powder is slightly better. It claims to last for 24 hours, so if this doesn't work, there's no hope for me!
L'oreal Nude Magique Eau De Teint foundation! I love this foundation. It's £9.99 and works better than a lot of high end foundations I've purchased. I love many high end foundations too, but seeing as Summer is approaching, the liquid to powder aspect really helps! I've heard Benefit is coming out with a liquid to powder foundation soon, and I wonder if it'll beat the Nude Magique! I purchased this in the colour 140, which I thought matched pretty well.
I've never purchased something like the Soap and Glory Puffy Eye Attack Turbo before - it claims to tackle dark circles and puffy eyes, and I wonder if it will. Really excited to try, and it was £12.50, so if it does work, that's not bad!

Lastly, I purchased the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting concealer in shade 02, which I've tried twice, and so far, so good!

Also, thank you to my <3 for treating me to half of these. :)

19 March 2014

Skinade!

I thought this would be interesting to write about, and haven't come across a post like this before. When I look at blogs from people living abroad, I wish that we had so many products available to us here in the UK. But, I assume we have some good brands hard to find abroad too! So by this I mean, you can't walk into the Boots or a beauty department to find these products easily. You have to search or buy online, which I've done here!

So two things I bought from this picture are from the coolest pharmacy just off Oxford Street in London, behind Selfridges. It's called John Bell & Croyden Pharmacy, and you can visit the website here. I could spend hours in there, just looking at all the different products that you can't find everywhere.
The first thing I purchased is the Bioderma Sensibio, which I've been wanting to try for ages! I left that huge sticker on, to emphasise that I got 2 250ml bottles for £10! I'm not sure if that's how much 1 bottle usually is, but 'special offers' get to me.
MAVA DRY! Coolest thing ever. I'd never heard of this company before but what it claimed interested me! A spray on top coat that dries your nails in an instant? Does it really work? Yes! This is the second bottle I've bought! It makes my nail polish feel all cold and leaves a shine, working very well as a top coat! I still have to be careful after as it doesn't dry them completely, but it's still the coolest top coat/drying thing ever! I had seen that John Lewis sells other MAVALA products, but I couldn't find this.
As I was telling the lady how much I loved the Pharmacy, she gave me a sample (a very generous sample) of this Pomegranate Regenerating Hand Cream from Weleda. I've never ever heard of this brand, but it smelt so lovely and free samples are always great. You can see what I'm talking about here.
I bought my first ever Sigma brush. I want them all, but as there's so many, I didn't know what to do. So I thought, let me buy one to start off with, then expand my collection slowly but surely. This is the F80 Flat Kabuki brush, which I use to apply foundation, and so far, so good. I got this from Amazon.
I also bought the Ben Nye Banana powder from Amazon, because, I really wanted to try it. Everyone I know that uses it, loves it, so why not?

Would love to know if you would like a full review on any of these products too!

14 March 2014

'Products hard to find in the UK' haul.

I love reading posts on what products people have used, and what they thought of them, so I thought I'd do my own.

I normally always buy the Batiste dry shampoo with the 'hint of colour' but my mum bought me this one, and I think I'll be sticking with the hint of colour one. I don't like the white cast this leaves on the hair, like most people must.
I've always used this the L'oreal Elnette hairspray, I don't love it or hate it. Can someone recommend another hairspray?
I love my Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub, makes my lips super soft, but I'm definitely trying the Mint Julips flavour next!!
Although the Topshop nail polish in this picture looks full, it's actually empty. It's called 'adrenaline' and it's the nicest nail polish I have ever owned, twice. I get so many compliments on this, it does chip, but I've never found a glittery nail polish just as good as this Topshop one.
My final two products are the MAC Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer in NC 42, and the Cream Colour Base in 'Shell'. As for the concealer, this shade was slightly dark for me, I had the shade NW35 also, but I've misplaced that. I've already tried repurchasing the Shell Cream Colour Base which is just the loveliest, shiniest highlighter! However, my local MAC didn't have it. :(

Finishing products just means space for new ones! Yaay!!

8 March 2014

Empties.

If I told you I have been searching for a pair of shoes since May would you believe me?

Chanel Espadrilles! Considering they're literally always sold out, I was over the moon to have finally found them! I found them in the Chanel on New Bond street, London. Every time I was near a Chanel, I would always go in and ask if they have them, in the hope that one day they will have them, and they did! They only had my size and a size below, it was fate.  They're so comfortable, I can see myself wearing these all the time. Even more excited for Spring/Summer now!

6 March 2014

If the shoe fits..

I've been looking for a suede jacket like this aaallll winter, and I finally find one as Spring is approaching. It's super cosy! Although I hope to wear this jacket, I can't wait until the sun is here to stay. May I just add, my shoes make me feel like I'm walking on air. Sorry I don't have an amazing picture of them, but I'll link them below. Happy Monday. :) Oh & follow me  on Instagram.

Rainy days.

So these are a few of my favourites for February!
Defrizz by Bumble and Bumble has been real good. It does what it says, and makes my hair less frizzy. I first thought it would make my hair slightly greasy, but it doesn't, yaay.
The nude tube at the top of the picture is the Diorskin nude concealer which I rediscovered this month. I use it under my eyes and the shade I have is 002 Nude. It's one of the best concealers I own.
The Bobbi Brown foundation stick in 'Almond' is so great for contouring. It's the first cream contour product I have ever purchased and I love it! :)
The Maybelline Baby Skin is also my new fave. I've used so many primers in my life and I initially thought silicone primers weren't good for my oily skin. This makes my foundation stay on longer than some primers that I've used before, and definitely controls my shine, as much as possible.
Benefit's 'Girl Meets Pearl' was one of the first ever make up products I ever purchased (obviously not the one I own now). I didn't realise when I first bought it that it was even a highlighter. The lady told me I could put it under my foundation, or over, and the sound of putting a cream product over my foundation was beyond me! But now I've realised what I use it for, I love it as an everyday type of highlighter.

I had been putting off getting a graze box for ages! But I'm so happy I finally did it. I always used to go on the site and back out, and now I don't want to cancel my subscription. They're so convenient and affordable, and I'm in love with the brownies, flapjacks and the sticky toffee pudding! So yum!
Click here to get a free box, or use the code 'MEHREE6CP'!

And finally..

My new babies! How beautiful are they?! They're called the 'So Kate Booty' and I'm in love with them. I love me some Louboutins.

February Favourites!

After what seems like forever, I am finally content with my skin. I did suffer from acne, and one thing I learnt for my skin care routine is; keep it as simple as possible

So this is what I use. My acne started from a few spots that I thought were bad, which made me spend about £300 on skin care products (from one place, which I will not name, but if prompted I will), but it did nothing but give me full blown acne.

In the morning, I use Dark Angels by Lush, and have noticed that it actually keeps my oil under control throughout the day, compared to when I don't use it. And that's all I use.

As soon as I come home, my make-up is instantly off. I use The Body Shop's Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Make Up Remover for the lips and eyes, which does the job. However, I do want to venture out on a new eye make up remover, any suggestions?

I then use Brasivol Fine paste, to take off my make up which works so well. It does say it's suitable for use in acne, and even though I don't have acne anymore, I feel like it still works really well. You do have to buy this from a pharmacy, but I was also recommended Cetaphil cleanser as it's more or less the same.

Straight after this, I use Hydraluron Moisture Booster, which I use as a moisturiser, even though you aren't meant to. For some reason, moisturisers don't agree with me, or maybe I haven't come across the one for me. Sigh.

Just before I get into bed, I apply Vitamin E Hydrating Toner from The Body Shop which I really love. Under my eyes, I use Map-15 regenerator, which is SO pricey! It's £71.40, and it's a yellow powder, that sinks into the skin as soon as you apply it. It's used for signs of ageing, but I use it to brighten my under eye area. Then of course, I use my baby lips (or EOS)!

And things I do occasionally:

The Olay Regenerist 3 Point Super Cleansing system. I use this twice a week, and yes, I bought it because I was too scared to spend on a Clarisonic, just in case it doesn't work for me.  This was £40, more affordable, and so far, it's working for me. Makes me feel squeaky clean! (But I really want the new Clarisonic Aria, eek).

This strange thing is called a Dermaroller. They're small, scary needles that you roll on your face, so your skin is regenerated, to get rid of acne scars and holes that my acne had left. The size of the needles are 0.5mm but you can get bigger. I only use this once every 2 weeks, and make sure it's sterilised properly EVERY time I use it. I got mine from amazon, but do not use this with active spots, or acne.

Bye :)
