Huda Beauty Rose Gold Remastered - Worth It?

Huda surprising us with another drop, however this time.. it's somewhat controversial.

A palette she's already done before 'remastered'. I would be lying if I didn't say I was confused on whether to buy this or not. I have the original, why would I need a remastered palette of the same one? No one is telling me to go out and buy it.. except myself and my investigative skills.

Here I'll be showing you a comparison of the shades, the difference I noticed in the formula's, and if it's actually really worth going out and buying this palette.

A bit of background history, I didn't initially buy the Huda Beauty Rose Gold palette because of the controversy around it. I just like to stay out of drama.. I heard people hated the formula, didn't like how they had to apply it, but then I was gifted it (thanks Maryam).. and I kicked myself SO much that I hadn't bought the palette sooner. I LOVED IT. The formula was different to anything that has ever been done before, but that's what I love about Huda, it's not the same stuff you can buy anywhere! When applied to your eyes, it was beautiful.

& then.. Huda goes and addresses all the issues people had with the palette, and reformulates it.

Let's have a look at both the palettes.

Top is the remastered palette, bottom is the original. Let's start with swatch comparisons of the only row that has stayed exactly the same; the bottom.

From left to right, the first shadow is the remastered shade, the second is the original.

The first thing I noticed was the mattes in the remastered palette are a lot softer. The other comparisons:
- Suede is more pink in the new palette.
- Maneater in the original palette is not as pigmented as in the remastered palette. It took about 4 swatches to build it up to that colour.
- Sandalwood is SO buttery in the remastered palette, compared to the original palette.

Now let's look at the shimmery shades, which have the same name in the palette:

From left to right (again the remastered is the first swatch, original is the second swatch) :
- Moondust is completely different. Thats the first swatch on the left. The remastered is a lot more shiny, and swatches smoothly.
- Dubai - nearly exactly the same but the remastered is a TAD darker, yet smoother.
-  Fling again is a lot smoother in the new palette.
- Same goes for Trust Fund.
- Rose Gold is SO much nicer in the remastered palette. It swatches really bad in the original palette, and the remastered looks a lot smoother.
- 24K is the next swatch. The original shade is a lot brighter and yellower, but the new 24K is a true gold, which is really nice.
- The last swatch is #BLESSED.  Pretty similar.

Now here are the shades that have been replaced for something else; different names in the palette.

From left to right (this time the original is the first swatch, the remastered is the second swatch) :
- Bae has been replaced by Bubbly - Bae is completely matte, and bubbly is a shimmer. Nice change Huda, because I don't really use Bae in the original palette.
- Shy has been replaced by Demure - two completely different shades, both nice!
- Flamingo has been replaced by Doll Face. Doll Face is a lot brighter, as you can see! When I saw Flamingo, I honestly thought there could never be a brighter pink than that. I guess I was wrooong.
- Bossy has been replaced by Risqué. Risqué is a really really unique shade. I really like it.

& I forgot to show you the difference between Pink Diamond (Remastered palette) & Angelic, as these have essentially replaced each other! But here it is:

Angelic from the original palette is the first swatch, and I honestly really loved this shade, it was a pink duochrome which flipped between pink and gold.. so beautiful.
Pink diamond, the second swatch, is single handedly the nicest shade in the palette. It looks so wet looking, and glam and I would literally just buy this palette for that colour. Omg.

So, is the remastered palette worth it?
Yes.

But it's not that simple this time:

Is it worth it if I haven't got the original palette?
This is a no brainer. YES. For whatever reason you don't have the original, this is a must have for your collection. Huda fixed all the reasons people didn't like this palette, from the packaging, the no mirror, everything. It's such a beautiful palette, right down to the packaging!

Is it worth it if I have the original palette?
This is harder for me to answer. Let's break it down.. if you're on a budget and already have the original, wait until the original has run out, I guess.
BUT, if you're a make up collector/artist/fan then this will be a lovely addition along with your original palette. Some shades are completely different, like pink diamond and angelic. I love that I have angelic because it truly is a unique shade, but pink diamond is also beautiful.

I hope that helped!
