Revlon or Topshop?

Hiiii! Since my last shopping sesh, I haven't worn anything BUT the Revlon Matte Balms or the Topshop Lip Bullet. But I do prefer one for suuure.

The retractable chubby stick that both these products come in is more interesting than a normal lipstick, especially to me as I have a huge lipstick collection, but, I got bored and twisted the whole chubby stick up and there isn't as much as it looks like there is! It's really exaggerated, but there is still a lot of product in both of them!

These are the 6 Revlon Matte Balms that I purchased. From left to right; Showy, Audacious, Striking, Shameless, Elusive and Sultry.

This is the only Topshop Lip Bullet I purchased in 'Wine Gum'.

This is how the Revlon Matte Balm 'Elusive' looks.

This is the Topshop Lip Bullett in 'Wine Gum'.

They are both super pigmented and have such a good colour pay off!
When I swatched the Lip Bullet in Topshop, it definitely looked matte, but the Topshop website claims it to have a satiny finish, and it does, which I love! It is so moisturising, and lasts ages (around 6 hours)! I really hate when lipstick dries on my lips and this doesn't at all. The only negative to this lip product is as it's so pigmented the lipstick goes all over the cap and looks all messy :(, the same thing happened to my friends, who has the same colour. I want to purchase more but I feel like the colours available don't go with my skin colour, I have my eye on the colour 'crave' though.

And the Revlon Matte Balm, that obviously claims to be 'matte' does not look matte, but I noticed that's because they have a shiny layer around them, the more I wear out these lipsticks, the shiny layer disappears and they look more matte. They are very balmy when first applied, however after a whole day of reapplying, they actually do dry on your lips and the colour sinks into the creases of my lips. When you first apply them though, they look amaze, even though they aren't a true matte! I'm in love with the colours, and they are extremely affordable, just like the Lip Bullets.

I love both these lipsticks! But if I had to choose one, I would choose the Topshop Lip Bullet as they stay on a little bit longer and they're not drying at all! And like I said in my last post, if you're a student, they're £7. Yaaaay!

  6. Hiya mehshake, thank you for your lovely comment. You take amazing photos, very beautiful. I could write a very long essay in relation to your question about Glossybox's but overall for me its a hit and miss, I love/d my 2013 December Glossybox though I was disappointed with the January 2014 box but with it being the 'back to basic' edition - February's box could be a hit with it being the month of Valentine's. Xx

  7. I don't usually wear lipstick unless I'm going out somewhere or I actually remember to put some on but thanks for sharing this. Now I know what to pick for my next lip purchase. You're gorgeous btw!
